2012 Season
CCCM concerts are presented in a fun and inviting format that is easily accessible to young children. Each concert begins with a pre-concert sing- along that segues into the performance. Engaging story lines are brought to life by the series’ own lovable character, Baker Bobbie, who mixes up musical mayhem with her imagination whisk!
The Baker introduces the musicians, their instruments and a variety of musical selections, encouraging the audience to join her in a series of musical activities throughout the performance. After the concert, children are invited to meet the performers and sample the instruments – along with a fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie!CCCM programs reinforce concert etiquette, teach basic music concepts and incorporate school readiness for young children by encouraging: language development; listening and following simple directions; the use of imagination, curiosity and creativity; and movement opportunities from marching to dancing.
CCCM currently schedules three concert weekends per season in our home venue at Old First Reformed Church in Park Slope. Family Concerts are held on Saturdays and Sundays.
Additionally, on Fridays before each concert weekend, CCCM offers Education Day concerts for area school children. There are three performance times on each Education Day (see schedule below.)
CCCM also has an outreach series, Out of the Oven, which brings our program to other local venues, such as the Brooklyn Public Library, that serve Park Slope and other communities.
